WHAT ARE HVAC UNITS

HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. It refers to the technology and systems used to control the environmental conditions within buildings, vehicles, and other enclosed spaces. The primary goal of HVAC systems is to provide thermal comfort and acceptable indoor air quality.

Here's a brief overview of each component:

1. Heating: This involves the process of raising the temperature of a space. Common heating methods include furnaces, boilers, and electric heaters.

2. Ventilation: Ventilation is the process of exchanging or replacing air within a space to control indoor air quality. It helps remove pollutants, odors, and moisture, ensuring a healthy and comfortable environment. Ventilation systems can include fans, ducts, and air filters.

3. Air Conditioning: Air conditioning involves the cooling and dehumidification of indoor air. This is commonly achieved through systems like air conditioners, which use refrigerants to absorb heat from indoor air and release it outside.

BTU stands for British Thermal Unit, and it is a unit of energy commonly used in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. One BTU is the amount of heat energy needed to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit.

Standard calculations are minimum of 20 BTU per sq foot.
